for a Routine Monitol"ing Viollltion (Tell. 23&24)
The TDC.I Montford Unit PWS lD# 1520261, failed to collect the required
number of bacteriological samples for coliform monitoring of the water
distribution system dUling October 2008, November lOOR, December 2008,
.lanumy 2009 and Februmy 2009. This monitoring is required by the Texas
Commission on Envil'Onmental Quality'S "Drinking Water Standards" and
the federal "Safe Drinking Water Act", Public Law 95-523.
Bacteriological samples are used to monitor water quality and indicate if the
water is free of coli form bacteria. Our water system is required to submit 6
bacteriological samples each month. Failure to collect all of the required
bacteriological samples is a violation of the monitOling requirements and we
are required to notify you of this violation.

Additional Information Regarding this Violation

During October 2008, November 2008, December 2008, January 2009 and
Februmy 2009, the TDC.I Montford Unit PWS TD# 1520261 collected 1of 2
required bacteriological samples each month. AI.! samples were analyzed
and reported as "not found" by the City of Lubbock Water Treatment
Laboratory NELAP accreditation identiJkation number 48150. The TDC]
Montford Unit purchases all water fTom the Lubbock Public Water System
PWS JD# 1520002. The Lubbock Public Water System is recognized as an
Approved Public Water System in accordance with 30 TAC 290.47(a) by the
Texas Commission 011 Environmental Qual ity.
