Dear Mr. Eber,
Director James C. Duffhas forwarded to me your recent letter regarding the hourly
private attorney compensation rates authorized for representation provided under the
Criminal Justice Act, 18 U.S.C. ยง 3006A.
Thank you for your suggestions about how to make information about CJA
compensation rates more accessible to practitioners who represent clients under the Prison
Litigation Reform Act. We will consider your recommendations carefully in deciding
where and how to best publicize the relevant hourly CJA rates funded by Congress, as well
as those authorized by the Judicial Conference.
I am pleased that you have received responsive assistance from our office about
these matters in the past and encourage you to continue to contact us with questions or
suggestions.
Sincerely,

cc;

James C. Duff
