Cricket Communications
During our recent CALEA Update and Assessment Survey presentations, one of the
carriers commented on by law enforcement officers most often was Cricket
Communications. For those agencies wishing to conduct electronic surveillance on
a "Cricket Communications" telephone, CIS has provided the following
information:
Court orders should be addressed to LEAP Wireless International, D.B.A. Cricket
Communications.
The order, once issued by a court of competent jurisdiction, can be faxed to Kay
Janney, Compliance Manager for LEAP Wireless provided that it is followed up
with an original order being delivered to their office.

Call data information is delivered from their facility located in Albuquerque,
NM. It is the responsibility of the law enforcement agency to make this
connection. As with other carriers, the law enforcement agency must provide a
router and modem to be installed in their facility to complete the CDC or
establish a VPN. Call content is delivered via a dial-out "Conference Bridge,"
dialing to a directory number provided by the law enforcement agency at their
listening post.
